The Great Battle of Hansan (1592) is one of the four most famous sea battles in Korea's history. Visitors to this festival, which celebrates the anniversary of the great event, will learn all about the battle.
The festival's main event is a magnificent reenactment of the ‘Great Battle of Hansan'. Geobukseons (Korea's turtle-shaped ships) and Japanese ships fire artillery at each other in the middle of the ocean presenting very realistic reenactment. Furthermore, the Tongyeong province has beautiful nature scenery and many tourist attractions, and there is plenty of fresh seafood for you to try.
Transportation
Take a cross-country bus from the Seoul Express Bus Terminal (7:10am~12:30am; departs every hour / est. travel time of 4hrs 10min) or from the Nambu Terminal (9:30am~7:00pm / est. travel time of 4hrs 30min) to Tongyeong Terminal.
From Tongyeong Terminal, take a city bus (bus #41 or 42 from the bus stop in front of the terminal) or taxi to the festival grounds. Estimated travel time is approximately 10 to 15 minutes.Further Information
